Coakley is a registered Democrat. She was first elected Attorney General in the 2006 general election.
Prior to serving as Attorney General, she was District Attorney of Middlesex County.
She has said she wants to toughen the state’s laws on wiretapping, money laundering, and organized crime before casino gambling is approved.
Coakley ran for U.S. Senate in a special election in January 2010 to fill the late Sen. Ted Kennedy’s vacant Senate seat, but she lost to her Republican rival Scott Brown.
She is running unopposed in her bid for re-election.

I think Martha Coakley is pretty fair at doing what the people want & need. She does take the time to check into things that are needed to be checked on.I am going to continue to vote for her. I think she is fair & responsible, as well as takes the time to listen to people. I'll know more when i speak to her. She does seem to look carefully into things that people seem to have sever problems with & that is important; at least to me. Dee
