Suzanne Bump

State:Massachusetts
Current Office:Auditor
Party:Democratic Party

Throughout her career, Suzanne Bump has identified problems and done whatever it takes to solve them.

First as a legislative aide, then as Braintree’s elected state representative, Suzanne saw problems affecting her community and her constituents, and she solved them. After four terms in office, Suzanne went to work as a lawyer for businesses large and small, gaining first-hand knowledge of private-sector best practices and business start-up experience.

When she was appointed Secretary of Labor and Workforce Development in early 2007, Suzanne got right to work, where she confronted a legacy of 16 years of management neglect and disinvestment. Her leadership was characterized by a deep commitment to the goals of the six agencies she administered, relentless scrutiny and improvement of the procedures used by the agencies, and a determination to “get it right” for her agencies’ customers and the taxpayers.

As your next state auditor, Suzanne will utilize her experience, intelligence, and character to add value to taxpayer dollars by making government work better and smarter. She seeks to ensure that no taxpayer need wonder whether anyone in government is watching out for them; second, making sure no taxpayer wonders whether a dollar they give to state government will be a dollar well spent; and third, making sure no one who relies upon any government service worries whether that service will be compromised by a failing bureaucracy or a dishonest vendor stealing from the system.

Suzanne has been endorsed in her run for State Auditor by numerous organizations, individuals, state legislators, Mayors and other elected officials including the current State Auditor Joe DeNucci as well as 1st District Congressman John Olver and 4th District Congressman Barney Frank.
