SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) —
Former Springfield Mayor Michael Albano and
Holyoke Veterans Agent Michael Franco will face-off in the November ballot to fill a seat on the Governorâ€™s Council.
The two are vying to replace Greenfield Democrat
Thomas Merrigan, who served three terms on the board, which votes on the governorâ€™s judicial appointments.
With all precincts reporting, Albano received 43% of the Democratic primary vote, beating out
Westfield School Committee Vice Chairman Kevin Sullivan, who received 41%.
Chicopee City Councilor Gerry Roy finished third with 17%.
Franco won the Republican primary, defeating
Washington Selectman Michael Case, 52% to 48%.
