Big week for debates

Senator Scott Brown and Democratic challenger, Elizabeth Warren debate for the second time tonight, October 1st, at the University of Massachusetts/Lowell.

On Wednesday, October 3rd , it’s the first debate between President Barack Obama and Republican nominee Mitt Romney in Denver, Colorado.

For weeks now, the public has seen the candidate’s ads, but the debates offer a chance for voters to see the candidates one-on-one against each other and less scripted.

Debates are tough. That’s why President Obama and Mitt Romney have taken time off the campaign trail to prepare and rehearse for their first debate, even though both are experienced politicians who have previously been through debates.

A major gaffe by a candidate during a live debate can have a major impact on their campaign, thus the intensive preparation particularly on the national level.
