"The best is yet to come"

CHICAGO (NBC) — President Obama thanked his family, campaign workers and the nation early Wednesday morning after winning his second term in office.

Mr. Obama told a cheering Chicago crowd that that "we have picked ourselves up, we have fought
our way back...and that for America, the best is yet to come."

He also promised to work with leaders of both parties, including his defeated opponent Mitt Romney, to plot a path forward for the nation.
