WESTFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) — If these funding cuts go through, that means restaurants near Barnes Air National Guard Base will lose business too.
Employees at Chinto's Pizza and Mexican Restaurant told 22News, every day they usually receive at least a dozen orders from people who work at Barnes.
In this tough economy, losing any number of customers will have a huge impact on local small businesses.
Arnaldo Perez Says, “Right now we are struggling a little bit, so it will be tougher. I see the parking lots are not as full, you know, and I think it's not only here. It's around the area. It's taking its toll. “
Chinto's employees said it has been tough especially since the recession, but they hope Congress can find a solution before the automatic cuts take effect.
