Next Tuesday, January 3rd, all the attention will be on Iowa as the state’s Caucuses will provide the first major test of the Republican Presidential candidates strength.
That same day, the candidates who will be on the Massachusetts Primary ballot in March 6th, will find out the order in which they’ll be listed.
The drawing of names for their order on the ballot will take place at 11 a.m. on Tuesday at the Grand Staircase in the State House. Secretary of the Commonwealth, William Galvin will oversee the drawing.
Interestingly, a Presidential Primary is the only state election, in Massachusetts which by law, has to have a drawing to determine the ballot order.
In the crowded Republican Primary, those who have qualified for the Bay State ballot are Michele Bachman, Newt Gingrich, Jon Huntsman, Ron Paul, Rick Petty, Mitt Romney and Rick Santorum.
President Barack Obama, up for re-election will be on the Democratic Primary ballot.
